Department of Oncology
The mission of the Department is to contribute significantly to the understanding of the pathogenic mechanisms of neoplastic disease and its treatment. For this purpose, all those professionals - teachers, and staff - with specific interests in neoplasms, from preclinical research to translational research and finally to the clinic and assistance, converge in the Department of Oncology.
The research activity of the Department of Oncology is developed in three areas: Basic Research, Translational Research and Clinical Research. The three research lines are mainly focused on gastrointestinal, thoracic, genitourinary, soft tissue and breast cancer.
The Department is characterized by its multidisciplinary approach, with the aim of optimizing the educational, research and patient assistance necessary to tackle the challenges of complex and multifactorial diseases, such as cancer, competitively and efficiently.
In the first semester of academic year 2020-2021, the Department has decided to continue online teaching as its mode of delivery. You may find some useful links related to the teaching activities in the degree programmes offered by the Department of Oncology.
